Power!
We've got power back at church, which is a good thing because now I can get some work done. Of course, I'm not actually doing any work at the moment. It's hard getting back in the swing of things after an unexpected four day weekend! I had taken Friday off, but then I got a freebee on Thursday! Oh well, it's good to be back in the swing of things.
I had a good weekend. Friday was the barbeque and while it wasn't the drunken extravaganza I thought it would be it was still fun. Everyone was kind of tired I think. But, the food was good and so was the conversation so I have no complaints. Saturday I got up and went and helped Justine with wedding invitations. She did the do-it-yourself kit that Target has and while they're nice, I'm glad my dad is going to print mine at work. They'll be really nice I think. I'm just really in wedding mode all of a sudden again. I'm just really excited, especially since another month passes tomorrow! 8 months from tomorrow! Woo-hoo! Anyway, then I went to church and then Nate and I went to Khan's because we haven't been for a long time. Sunday I went to church again (too many darn singing groups!) and then I went to a lunch with Nate's family and met some extended family I haven't actually met in the whole 7 1/2 years we've been together. It's a group that doesn't get together as often. But, they're very nice people and very funny. Barb and Ali kept apologizing for them, but I'm like "you've never been to a Miller family gathering, trust me." So that was cool. Then Nate and I went and bought a new mouse for my computer at home because the other one died. So now my computer works really well again.
I can't help really getting excited about the possibility of this house thing. We were telling everyone about it on Friday and yesterday as well and I just keep getting more and more excited. I know it will be more expensive than what we were planning for for our first year of marriage, but it would be so great. I like Nate's apartment, I really do, but gosh, a house! So much better than an apartment. But, we'll still have to wait and see.
There are no jobs right now that interest me!!! So I've decided I'm stuck here until the wedding again. It's for the best at this point, next week all the programs start again: Confirmation, 7th and 8th grade faith formation, my new senior high program that will no doubt bomb anyway but I'm trying. So therefore, I'll just have to seriously start looking again around March I'm thinking. Maybe by then something will open up at St. Kate's and they'll be like "oh! You're a Katie? Well of course we want to hire you!" That would be the ideal situation I think. Oh well. Trying hard not to focus on it, instead, focusing on doing the job as best as I can for now and really focusing on the fun things outside of work such as the wedding, time with friends, etc.
Anyway, I should go for now. I've been rambling on and on and yeah, you get the point. Back to work!
